Quilted Satin Cushion

This cushion was another gift I made for a friend at Christmas.
I used a piece of dusky pink satin and this time the quilting was done on my frame.

It's beautiful! I need to get up the courage to quilt a pieced satin top (probably from the 1940s).

This is absolutely stunning!!! I have wanted to quilt on silk, but have worried about how my machine will handle it. What kind of thread do you use? I'm sure it's something lighter than you would use on a cotton quilt.
