I know it's completely over the top but it is an experimental piece and I was enjoying playing around with the fabrics.
I used a variety of buttons and beads for the flowers.
I 'borrowed' the fuzzy ball centers of the peachy flowers from my daughters Easter bonnet craft kit.
I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out and I think some elements of this could be used in the making of a bed quilt. I already have some ideas in my head.
The surprising thing about this is how much it weighs - it's pretty heavy!
I hope you enjoyed my post today and I'd love for you to leave me a comment.
I have disabled word verification on my blog as I know it puts me off leaving comments on others - only becasue I can hardly read the words. Sometimes they are so distorted - drives me nuts!
Linking up with Color Me Quilty.
Have a relaxing weekend - I hope it is filled with lots of sewing!
See you next time.

Your sister is one lucky lady Rhianon. I imagine your flower piece is heavy...but I love it!! You do such stunning work. I think it is gorgeous!!
I have always loved the tactile nature of quilting - I find it hard to buy fabric online because not only do I want to see it, I need to touch it lol! Your flower quilt is taking this to a new level, I just want to reach in and FEEL them! And as usual, I love your quilting!!!

Outstanding! Not over the top at all when you look at the piece as a whole - it's a gorgeous wall hanging with so much dimension and interest. Hope you'll be entering this in some shows. Your work is always gorgeous - so much to learn from seeing how your design proceeds through a project.

wonderful job,
You always do such beautiful work. My quilt is over on the gallery too. Not doing as good as yours but still I am pleased with the amount of votes it has gotten.
I found your blog via your Dresden entry in the Quilting Gallery contest. The Dresden quilt is beautiful but now I am in love with your flowers -- not the least of which is the the thistle in your blog header.
