Grand Illusion - the Quilting

Hi there
This is the final post on this quilt - Bonnie Hunter's Grand Illusion Mystery.
I made half the amount of blocks and did a 3 x 4 layout then I quilted it on a queen sized Gracie frame with my Janome 1600p.

                                                                  Quilt completed.

Top finished.

I used one layer of Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 and the same colour thread throughout.  It was a difficult choice with the thread but i went with a pale limey green.

Here it is on the frame........

Feathers in the border.........

                                                                         Pebbles

This is the back.

For the binding I used the same red fabric as the border.  I hardly had any left and decided to try Bonnie's method of cutting my binding at 2" instead of the usual 2.5".
I have to say I love the binding at this width.  It made a very neat job and was even on both sides.  I will be doing my bindings this width from now on!

I have to say thank you Bonnie for another great mystery.
I'm adding this post to Bonnie's linky party. so head on over to see all the other Grand Illusion quilts. Already looking forward to this years mystery.........
Thanks for visiting my blog today.
Rhianon.

I love the extra border. It greatly set the center off and lessen the busiest of the quilt. I know the quilting took hours, but wow how it gave the quilt the wow factor.

One thing I learned in life is to love what makes you happy and to cherish every moment you spend with your family, friends or love ones because everything that we have now on earth is temporary. Well, thank you for inspiring us with your great art work.
