I made this quilt top quite a while ago and decided it was time to quilt it.
I first learned this block from a Lynne Edwards book and it was on a smaller scale.
This is Bonnie Hunter's Scrappy mountain Majesties. I liked Bonnie's big chunky blocks.
I used a variety of fat quarters in warm, rich tones.
I kept the quilting fairly simple. Vertical lines on the outer border then a continuous feather in the next and an all over pattern for the center section.
I watched Lyn Durbin's excellent tutorial Loopy Clams.
Here is the link for the video.
It is a very easy, free flowing design to stitch and I could guide my machine with one hand - lots of fun!
I love the texture created with this pattern.
Near the end now......

So another one done - always a good feeling!
Happy sewing til next time

I love the colors you chose for this beauty. Thanks for sharing the link for the looping design. I'm always on the lookout for easy overall designs, especially for quick baby and toddler quilts.

ReplyDeleteThis one has been on my "to do" list for a while now...
Nice! That bag is interesting. I'm not sure I could use one like that -- my purse is usually such a breeding ground for debris! But this one looks great1
