Hi there.
This week I have continued working on my feathers. I made these two cushions.
They are memory cushions made for my stepmum. The check fabric is my Dad's shirt.
I started with a 10" square of satin and appliqued a little heart on a bigger heart.
Then I made some HSTs for the next border and it was ready to quilt ..... feathers!
During the week I made a video of me quilting feathers - if you would like to watch it, you can find it here :

Next I added some pretty beige lace followed by a white satin ruffle.
Go here if you would like to see how I make up my cushions.
It's Friday so of course I'm linking up Marsha's Spot - this weeks host of TGIFF. So why not head over and spend a few minutes.
I'll be back soon - I've been doing a lot of machine quilting but now I am feeling the need to do something else.
Have a great weekend what ever you are up to.
Rhianon.
Your FMQ is just lovely...the cushion are beautiful

ReplyDeleteBeautiful cushions and I love your youtube demonstration :)
ReplyDeleteSimply beautiful!!! the pillow is gorgeous; but your quilting is exceptional.!!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful, Rhianon! What a wonderful tribute to your father for your step mum. Your FMQ is gorgeous. I'm having problems with watching the You Tube video, but I'm pretty sure it's my computer. Grrr! I'll definitely be checking it out because I still have to do this month's FMQ Challenge quilting. :)
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your video. It gives me hope that maybe I can do it someday. Your pillow is gorgeous and I'm so glad I stopped over (from Stitchin' Therapy) to see it.
ReplyDeleteI do think that you should have your sewing machine oiled and lubed. It sounds like it needs some maintenance. (Maybe it's just because mine is a different brand, but your's really sounds "chattery".)
Hugs!
Beautiful feathers. Lovely memory cushions.
ReplyDeleteWonderful work, I have to practice again & again :((
ReplyDeleteThese are just gorgeous!! I am in awe of the feathers! Stopping by from the Finish It Friday hop and now following! Have a wonderful weekend!

I like your stepmum craft work. I took a look on your feather cushions tutorial and I also decided to make some home made cushions for my living room.
