Frame Quilting - Floral Hearts Quilt

Hi there

Its been a while since I last posted but I have been getting things done.
I finished my floral hearts quilt. I couldn't wait to get it off the frame to see it and I am pleased with the result.

I still have heaps to learn about quilting on the frame.

I finished it off with some dark blue binding.

I've also been working on an embroidered butterfly wall hanging which just needs bound so I'll show you that next time.
On Thursday, I started a quilt that has been on my to-do list for a while - the lone star.  I avoided it because of the dreaded Y seams but really they are not so bad.  More to come on that one.
Enjoy your weekend and thanks for stopping by.

Celtic Solstice - Part 6, the big reveal!

I can't believe I forgot to do this post but better late than never!
New Years Day saw Bonnie revealing the conclusion to her mystery quilt.

All the units we've been making over the last 6 weeks went together to make these 2 blocks.

Put together, they look like this.

These photos were taken with a flash and make the colours look a bit garish.

I still have the final borders to put on.  I'm trying to decide which colou for this.  Either the greens or the yellows/golds.
I was distracted by this arriving - my very first hand crank vintage sewing machine.  Cannot wait to sew on her after she has been cleaned up.
Anyway, back to the mystery.  I love how it turned out and I think this has been my favourite one so far.
Huge thank you to Bonnie for her generosity in giving us this free pattern and taking the time to make it so much fun for us all.
Think its safe to say I'll be doing it again next year!
Happy Stitchin'
Rhianon.
PS I'll be back to update this page with more photos once my quilt is finished..
